BEFORE YOU BEGIN

A few useful
answers.

Which radio does the application control?

The application is designed for the Kenwood TS-890S. Its front panel, CAT commands and KNS connection are built around that transceiver.

Does the desktop application run on Linux?

The desktop packages are for Windows and macOS. The Raspberry Pi Linux package runs the Remote Relay at the station. It does not run the desktop front panel.

Do I need Ethernet as well as USB?

In the desk setup, USB carries CAT and audio. Ethernet is optional and provides the faster bandscope feed. A slower USB scope mode is available. Network remote mode uses a different connection path, explained on the Connections page.

Is the application free to use?

The supplied guide permits free use and distribution of the complete, unchanged download, but not sale. Donation reminders begin after three weeks. After four weeks they become more frequent and the first radio connection is delayed by 30 seconds. The guide describes a donation of €20 or more for a personal key for one PC that removes those reminders. Read the included licence and guide for the full terms.

Where do I report a problem?

Use the project’s GitHub Issues page. Include the application version, operating system, connection type and the steps that reproduce the problem.
